Driver Dave Spangler and Team Vesco's TURBINATOR II made two full high speed passes during the Utah Salt Flat Racing Association's World of Speed event. Running against his own record of 455 mph set at Speed Week the previous month, Dave's first run posted the highest speed to date at 482.169 mph, qualifying him for a new record attempt. On the return run the following day, Dave blistered down the course at an astounding 483.123 mph with a top speed of 492 mph! Just eight miles an hour short of Team Vesco's long held goal of being the first car to break the 500 mph barrier. Team Vesco plans to run at the World Finals event, October 2 - 5.
